How does the smart watering work?

Each day, Garden Connect computes the exact water needs of each zone using the FAO56 standard (the UN reference for crop water needs), cross-referenced with weather, soil, sensors and your plants. If you have connected sprinklers (Gardena), watering triggers automatically. Sensors are supported from Gardena and Netatmo. Without connected sprinklers, you receive a clear daily recommendation instead.

How much water can Garden Connect save?

Users have reduced their water consumption by up to 50% compared to manual watering. The savings come from avoiding over-watering on wet days, adapting to real soil moisture, and watering only the zones that need it.

Why is the plant catalogue limited to 175+?

Quality over quantity. Each plant has a detailed information sheet covering needs, spacing, companion planting and ideal climate. We'd rather have 175 plants you can truly rely on than thousands with incomplete data.

Which connected devices does Garden Connect support?

Garden Connect supports connected sprinklers from Gardena (including multi-outlet) for automatic watering, and sensors from Gardena and Netatmo for soil moisture, temperature and humidity. More brands are being added.

Do I need connected devices to use the application?

No. Only automatic watering requires connected sprinklers (Gardena). All other features — garden plan, plant catalogue, AI placement, calendar, reports and weather — work perfectly without any hardware. Without connected devices, you receive a daily watering recommendation instead.

How does AI plant placement work?

Pick a zone and select your plants. The AI generates the optimal spatial layout based on sun exposure, companion planting rules, water-need clusters and spacing requirements. Done in seconds.

Is my address and garden data private?
